Evidence over assumptions

Conservative
by design.

A number you can't defend is worse than no number. The headline total only counts lines your supplier printed as a tariff surcharge, dated while IEEPA duties were being collected. Everything else is shown separately, with the reason.

Clear answers

Questions.

Why does this matter now?

On February 20, 2026 the Supreme Court ruled that IEEPA does not authorize the 2025 tariffs, and U.S. Customs has been refunding those duties to importers. Refunds go to the importer of record — often your distributor, not you. If a supplier passed those tariffs to you as a separate surcharge, your invoices are the record of what you paid.

Is this legal advice?

No. SurchargeBack is not a law firm. It reports what your own invoices say: which charges were labeled as tariff surcharges, when, by whom, and how much. Whether you have a claim depends on your contracts and circumstances. For large amounts, talk to an attorney — the evidence pack is a good thing to bring.

Do you contact my suppliers?

Never. You get a short, neutral draft question for each supplier that you can edit and send from your own email, if you choose to.

What can I upload?

Supplier invoices as PDFs (native or scanned) and phone photos (JPEG, PNG, HEIC). Up to 400 pages per free scan. Statements and price-increase letters are welcome too — they're listed, but never counted as surcharges.

What's counted, and what's left out?

The headline total only counts lines printed as tariff surcharges on invoices dated in the IEEPA period (Feb 3, 2025 – Feb 24, 2026). Section 232/301 tariffs, fuel and card surcharges, and freight are left out and listed separately. Ambiguous charges are shown for you to decide.

What if I imported goods myself?

If FedEx, UPS, DHL or a customs broker billed you for duties, you may have been the importer of record — and refunds would come from Customs, not a supplier. SurchargeBack flags these bills separately so you can ask your broker.

Is my data safe?

Files are stored privately, encrypted at rest, visible only to your account, and deleted automatically (30 days after an unpaid scan, 120 days after a pack). You can delete a scan instantly. We use OpenAI's API to read documents; API data isn't used to train their models.
